Mirror myself

In italian Highway Code, Article 141 doesn't explicitly mention rear-view mirrors or how we can decorate them. The same goes for Article 169, which covers the transport of people, animals, and/or objects. So, hanging small items or symbols isn't prohibited in itself, but the question I asked myself is: why?

Why is it so easy for us to express aspects of our personality through these customizations? Why has the car become a second skin? Why do we feel the need for something that protects us?

These are the questions I asked myself while looking at the cars I photographed. Expensive cars, economy cars, and beat-up ones, each with their own ornaments and their own stories.
